Before and After: A Gorgeous DIY Outdoor Lantern Transformation

If there’s one thing that home and lifestyle enthusiasts can’t stay away from, it’s ogling over perfectly executed transformations. There’s just something so inspiring about all the DIY furniture hacks and drab-to-fab visions that make a person want to head straight to the home improvement store with inspiration board in-hand.

Well, today we’re here to share with you one of those inspiring before-and-after moments in our new series aptly named “Before and After.” (Clever, right?)

One of our awesome customers in Arizona kindly sent photos of their outdoor lantern transformation, and we are over the moon with the results! Check it out…

DIY Outdoor Lantern Transformation in Arizona

This is the outdoor lantern the client started with:

While this multi-bulb lantern certainly packs a lot of character, it’s also quite dated. Especially since it’s one of the first things greeting guests (curb appeal is crucial!), the homeowners wanted it to better reflect their style.

First, they beheaded the post.

Next, they painted the original white post to a sleek black.

Lastly, they added on our Tradd Street T 30 copper lantern to complete the look.

We absolutely love the way this DIY project turned out! The copper will change colors with time (read more about how copper ages), giving this driveway entrance an updated yet timeless and beautiful facelift. The lantern pictured is the Tradd Street T 30. It’s so fun seeing how clients take our products and make them their own—this post lantern is one-of-a-kind and a cost-friendly project for those on a budget.
