Reproduction gas porch lights from Lantern & Scroll recreate the warm feel of the gaslight era in Charleston. The CH-27 wall mount gas lantern from the Charleston Collection, the most popular lighting group we offer, offer an updated version of exterior lighting found on fine 19th century homes.
Gas Flame Lanterns With Flare
Measuring 18h x 10.5w x 11.5d, the Ch-27 is a four-sided fixture with two pieces of angled glass on each side. Topping the frame of the lantern cage is a perforated chimney accented with a pointed roof. The basic lantern can be personalized with accents such as top loops, side scrolls, backward scrolls, arms, crossbars, wall yokes, and more.
While this style of lantern is known for the amount of light it disperses through its upper glass panels, you can order it with solid copper top panels if your prefer the light coming just through the sides. Another way to soften the light is to use seeded or antiqued glass rather than clear.
If you prefer an electric lantern, the CH-27 come with a medium base socket, single tall candle, or 2 or 3 bulb clusters as well. Even if you lack a gas line or prefer the economy of electric outdoor lighting, you can emulate the look of a gas porch light by using candelabra flickering bulbs that resemble the appearance of a gas flame.
Lighting Choices From Lantern & Scroll
While all Lantern & Scroll gas flame lanterns are handmade from copper, the CH-27 is available in solid copper, aged bronze, or black finishes. They look especially nice on historic homes, colonials, traditional homes, period homes, and more.
The fixtures even coordinate with others from the Charleston Collection when you need a post/column mounted lantern, flush mount, or hanging alternatives.
